Born in Paris in 1936, the G2 was the first Spring Court tennis shoe.
It is recognizable by its 4-hole ventilated rubber sole and the unique flexibility of its durable canvas.
The Heavy Twill cotton twill has a traditional weave with oblique stripes.

This product is vegan. We do not use any animal glue.

CANVAS: First, use a soft, dry brush to remove any debris that may have adhered to the shoe. Then, using slightly soapy water and a soft brush, gently scrub the entire shoe, making sure to go over any particularly stained areas. Avoid using a stiff brush, which could damage the canvas. Once the shoe is clean and dry, use a waterproofing spray to treat it one last time for protection.

RUBBER: We recommend brushing it with a classic white eraser. You can also use a brush with warm water and soap, rinsing thoroughly. Don't hesitate to clean it regularly to restore its natural color.

INSIDE SOLES: We advise you to hand wash your insoles (also known as footbeds) and dry them thoroughly in the open air.

Spring Court is a brand that will always be part of history

The G2 model was adopted by John Lennon himself. They wear the brand on the cover of Abbey Road

He will also wear them at his wedding with Yoko Ono.

About the Brand

Anecdote about the name Spring Court: Spring for the bounce, and Court for the tennis court.

This shoe, which according to its first users was mounted on springs, would be worn by the greatest tennis players: Bjorn Borg, Lew Hoad, Ilie Nastase, Rod Laver (who gave his name to the center court of the Australian Open), Françoise Dürr, François Jauffret, Pierre Barthès, etc.

Manufacturing secret of Spring Court

In 1936, Georges Grimmeisen, a tennis enthusiast, took on a formidable challenge: designing a breathable and ultra-durable shoe for playing on clay courts. This ambition gave birth to the Spring Court brand and its stroke of genius: direct vulcanization.

The manufacturing secret? Fusing the raw rubber sole and the cotton canvas upper in a single step at 160°C. Under the effect of heat and pressure, the material naturally embeds itself into the fabric fibers. No need for glue or chemical solvents: the bond is instantaneous, indestructible, and ecological!

To top it all off, Georges invented the famous breathable sole with four ventilation holes and anti-slip arches. The result was immediate: a lightweight, ultra-flexible sneaker with such perfect bounce that it felt like "playing on springs."

Today, the brand is managed by his three granddaughters.
