The Vilac x National Museum of Natural History Collaboration
Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon (1707–1788), directed the Royal Garden of Plants for nearly fifty years, from 1739 until his death. His Histoire naturelle, a 36-volume illustrated masterpiece, was a major success upon its release.
The animal illustrations featured in this work have inspired fine arts, fashion, home décor, educational materials, and children's books for generations.
