The Z2 Sisal Blond light fixture is made of a handmade bamboo frame covered with sisal knitted in Swaziland. The fabric shades are created by women in collaborative workshops.

Ay Lin Heinen and Nelson Sepulveda are the designers of Ay Illuminate, a Dutch lighting company. Ay Illuminate encourages artisans and communities to produce elegant, unique and handmade light fixtures.
Ay Lin is co-owner of the company with her husband Casper Heinen and is the driving force behind the company's development of trusted relationships with artisans in rural communities in the Philippines since the beginning.
Nelson is a Chilean designer who spends most of his time in Paris. After studying fine arts, Nelson worked with Li Edelkoort, who opened the doors of her creative studio and worked on European trends. Nelson works on numerous projects and companies (Nina Ricci, Le Bon Marché, Caravane, Hermès…) and is also the artistic director of Bloom, a magazine dedicated to trends in the field of horticulture.

Quelques mots sur le designer Nelson Sepulveda
Nelson Sepulveda is a Chilean-born designer based in Paris, whose work combines ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. His exceptional career began at Nina Ricci, where he honed his mastery of colors, before collaborating with renowned forecaster Li Edelkoort and directing the visionary magazine Bloom.
Building on this international renown, he has lent his talent to prestigious houses such as Hermès, Le Bon Marché, Dosa, and Khadi & Co. A versatile creator, he co-founded Atelier Belart, whose Dadasi stoneware collection received the Discovery Award at the Maison & Objet show and a ELLE Decoration Design Award.
Today, he infuses his humanist approach into Ay Illuminate, where he works closely with Indonesian artisans to design innovative lighting fixtures.
His creations celebrate the human dimension and graphic purity, establishing themselves as cultural bridges between raw materials and luxury design.
