De loin, le tapis Half Moon semble être d'une couleur unie, mais son poil long est composé d'un mélange de trois couleurs. Ce mélange, combiné aux ombres produites par le poil long, crée une complexité de couleurs profondes.

TECHNIQUE

Le tapis Half Moon a été noué à la main, ce qui signifie que chaque fil a été noué individuellement à la main. Contrairement aux tapis touffus, les tapis noués à la main n'utilisent pas de colle pour retenir les fils et ne s'arrachent pas au fil du temps.

New Zealand wool is one of the softest wools available.

From a far, the Half Moon rug looks to be a solid colour, but its shag is made of a tri-colour blend. This, combined with the shadows that the shag produces create deep colour complexity

TECHNIQUE

The Half Moon rug has been hand knotted, which means each yarn has been tied individually by hand. Hand knotting is a skillful and laborious process, but the result is an incredibly soft and long-lasting tapestry. Unlike tufted rugs, hand knotted rug do not use glue to hold in the yarns, and do not pull out over time.  

This rug is of a quality that when left in the hands of a mindfull steward, will last for generations.
